Italian culture is trembling; museums, libraries, culture sites are in lockdown too. Since 3 November until 03 December 2020, the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers has stated that, all kind of art places must close in order to contain the spread of Covid-19.
So all of Italian treasure, that once were flled and packed with people and tourists, are now becoming surreal worlds.
American Alliance of Museums (AAM), the agency that represents museums in the U.S. conducted an investigation among 850 museums. 98% of them has been closed; the bad news is that 40% still do not know when they will be able to open again; and two out of ten museums had to lay off-full time staff, while a 20% had to put the staff on leave.
So culture of the whole word is shaking. Italian government is trying to avoid permanent shuts down by giving, with the 26th June decree, 70 millions to be allocated to private
museum, on 13th November this number has been increased with 17 millions more.
